| driving the car on the street I would recommend the SZ auto trans that should hold up longer to the power a car with those modifications should produce. If you aren't into drag racing and don't have some sort of fetish with automatic transmissions I would do the most practical thing and convert to a 5 sp. If your main purpose is drag racing I would strongly recommend getting with BDE on a TH400 as it's more practical for that purpose. From my experience the Z1 TT auto trans will hold that kind of power but will obviously wear-out faster. For the money our trans is a great option and is an adequate choice in probably 98% of the auto Z32s (NA & TT) on the road. Through several modifications performed on the units, they've been proven to support more power and last considerably longer than OE units at less cost than a standard rebuild from a local trans shop. The SZ trans is built for the other 2%. With a converter it's well over twice the cost, but worth it for owners who are intent on retaining the stock auto in their heavily modified Z32s. I agree that our advertising may have not been clear on this and a recent ad in classifieds, that was brought to my attention by this post went too far. However we do talk to everyone who purchases a trans on the phone in an attempt to ensure that our trans is a match for their goals. No one has purchased a Z1 auto trans based on the verbiage of that new advertisement posted a few days ago. Our advertising and listing will be changed today to more accurately describe what applications our trans is recommend for.
